She was named executive director of Americares Free Clinics in 1996. Under Gottlieb’s leadership, the program has grown to become the largest free clinic network in the state, with four locations serving nearly 2,000 patients on average each year. Over the years, the program has provided more than 28,000 patients with comprehensive care including medications, lab work and diagnostic testing.
Gottlieb oversees the Americares Free Clinics program, leading a dedicated team of experienced medical and nonmedical professionals. Together, they are responsible for key functions, including training, fundraising, program development and recruitment of staff and volunteers. Under Gottlieb’s leadership, the Americares Free Clinics team develops the strategic vision and plan for overall growth and development.
Gottlieb served on the board of the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics for nearly 20 years, as well as the board of Norwalk Hospital for nearly a decade. A leader in the nursing field, Gottlieb was selected by The Arnold P. Gold Foundation and Nurses with Global Impact to be honored at the United Nations second annual International Nurses Day.
She earned a nursing degree from Russell Sage College and a Master of Business Administration degree from Colombia University.
