Press ReleaseOctober 30, 2009 CONTACT: Donna Porstner NewAlliance Awards Grant to AmeriCares Free Clinics NewAlliance Foundation has awarded a $5,000 grant to the AmeriCares Free Clinic of Norwalk. The grant will defray operating expenses for the clinic, which serves low-income area residents without health insurance. The clinic is located inside the South Norwalk Community Center at 98 South Main St. More than 98 percent of the AmeriCares Free Clinics budget is privately funded by generous individuals, corporations and foundations like NewAlliance Foundation – the charitable arm of New Haven-based NewAlliance Bank. AmeriCares Free Clinics provide quality health care to uninsured area residents in a setting where all individuals are treated with dignity and respect. Since 1994, our clinics in Norwalk, Bridgeport and Danbury have provided $27 million in health care services to 18,000 patients.
