Press ReleaseSeptember 8, 2006 CONTACT: AmeriCares Free Clinic Receives Donation from Information Portfolio Stamford, CT, September 8, 2006 – AmeriCares Free Clinics recently received a donation of 1,000 “personal health portfolios” manufactured by Information Portfolio, Inc., of Largo, Florida. These colorful binders are designed to be customized to contain an individual or families’ complete health and medical records in one place. The portable filing system is ideal for families using many different healthcare providers, senior citizens and those with complex medical histories. The portfolios are available in both English and Spanish. AmeriCares Free Clinics will be giving the binders to patients at their three clinic locations in Bridgeport, Danbury and Norwalk. “I developed this product as a result of having to be a caregiver for one of my own family members,” says Cheryl Rios, president of Information Portfolio. “It was overwhelming trying to remember so many details, so I created a way to organize it all. The first Health Portfolio was a life-saver for me and my family. Now I want to give back to others. I greatly appreciate the work that AmeriCares Free Clinics does in providing care to the uninsured, and am pleased to be able to make this donation.” Shown here in front of the AmeriCares Mobile Clinic in Stamford, CT, are Karen Gottlieb, executive director of the AmeriCares Free Clinics and Cheryl Rios, president of Information Portfolio.
