Cumulative Value of ServiceA: Norwalk Clinic Opens Value of Service figures are based on a summary of all the services each patient receives at the clinic site, as well as any other services (e.g. laboratory tests, radiology and other diagnostic tests, specialty consultations, pharmaceuticals) from outside providers who have agreed to donate services to our patients. The value assigned to each service is derived from a number of sources, including the Physician's Fee and Coding Guide, Rx Alert, actual bills received from local pharmacies, or values given to us by our partner providers (i.e. Quest Diagnostics, local hospitals). As of March 2008, we have provided more than $20 million in health services through the AmeriCares Free Clinics network. |
